Still in his bid and campaign for a “One man one vote”, the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has once again called on the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC not to allow irregularities and malpractices in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The incumbent governor made this known in a televised debate today Wednesday, June 27, that involved all political party governorship candidates in the state.

According to him, corruption starts from electioneering process.

Osiomhole said the foundation of cleaning up corruption is by having a free and fair election.

“Our government has demonstrated that as far as Edo state is concern no one is above the law”

“The law must be fully enforced irrespective of whose ox is gored”.

Other political party candidates at the debate include; People Democratic Party’s Charlse Airhiavbere, Roland Izevbuwa of the Congress for Progressive Change, Solomon Edebiri of All Nigeria Peoples Party, Frank Ukonga and Paul Orumwense of the Social Democratic Mega Party and National Conscience Party respectively.

On the issue of corruption the PDP candidate Mr. Charlse Airhiavbere said the present leadership of the state have arrogantly cheats the people of Edo State and do not obey the law as being publicly presented.

Others said to curb corruption in state, empowerment and training of the grassroots will be put in place.

ANPP candidate said “Corruption has become a culture and we need to do a lot to eradicate it”.

Other issues discussed include the socio-economy status of the state, infrastructural development and budget planning.
