Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has urged all stakeholders in the Adamawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to unite and support Governor Murtala Nyako, who was re-elected for the second term in office in Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
Reacting to the outcome of the election in a statement by his media office in Abuja, the former vice-president, who cast his vote in Jimeta-Yola, said with the election now concluded, all PDP members should work together as one family (just like they had done prior to the election) for the overall progress and development of Adamawa State.
According to him, they should put behind them personal acrimonies and join hands with Governor Nyako for the advancement of Adamawa State.
He said the state was a classic example of Nigeria’s complex ethnic, cultural and religious diversity, assuring that the nation stood to benefit from the success that would be achieved in this regard.
For this reason, he pointed out that Governor Nyako needed all the goodwill, cooperation and support of all people of Adamawa State in the challenges of undertaking the task of governance.
