in Wednesday amid pomp
and ceremony.
The oath of office was
administered by the State
Acting Chief Judge, Mr.
Justice Barthmaus Lawi
held at the Mahmud
Ribadu Square in the
state capital, Yola.
Rear Admiral Murtala
Nyako was re-elected
Adamawa Governor in
last Saturday’s election
following his removal
alongside with four other
Governors by the
Supreme Court of Nigeria
after affirming that their
tenure elapsed in May
2011.Speaking after taking the
oath of office, Governor
Murtala Nyako observed
that no democracy
thrives without the
opposition and called on
his opponents during the
election to team up with
him towards building a
better state.
He commended candidates
of the other political
parties for their maturity
during their
electioneering campaigns,
which he said were
devoid of acrimony, crisis
and other vices that
were the hallmark of past
elections.
Admiral Murtala Nyako
assured the people of
the state that he will not
let them down and
solicited for their
maximum support and co-
operation towards
moving the state to the
next level.
Former Vice President,
Atiku Abubakar,
Governor Danbaba
Suntai of Taraba State,
members of the National
Assembly, former
governors of the state,
traditional rulers, among
others witnessed the
ceremony.
