Following the court decision last week that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and its subsidiary, the Nigeria Premier League, NPL are illegal, former board member of the Nigerian Football Association, Dr. Sam Sam Jaja who took the case to court has disclosed that he is ready to take the case to any judicial level in the country in order for the right thing be done in the country’s football.
Reacting to the verdict by Justice Donatus Okorowo, the former Chairman of the Nigerian Referees Association told Saturday Vanguard Sports that the structure of the football house was built on a wrong foundation and the wind of correction has blown to its peril.
“Anywhere they want us to go, we will go, so long as justice is gotten. I am ready to take it even to the Supreme Court. The verdict states that the body, those that constitute it and all that they have done are illegal. This is what I went to court to challenge.
“If the verdict took almost two years, it doesn’t matter. What matters most is that justice has prevailed and it will continue to prevail because whatever is built on wrong foundation will collapse when the wind blows. What they are saying they are today – NFF, was my initiative which I had intended to amend but they hijacked it without following due process only because some persons wanted to be called president.
“A lot of people might be thinking that it is a thing to rejoice about but for me, it is not because there is no basis to rejoice, the only thing here is that, we are looking for justice. This issue has to do with my unjust disqualification from the election into the Nigerian Premier League and that of certain persons using their powers to get things to themselves,” Jaja said.
