PHCN Workers Flee Area As Youths Grow Wild Over Electrocuted Colleagues


Following the electrocution of a pregnant woman and seven other individuals in the Apata market area of Ibadan, PHCN staff have fled for their lives. The youths of the area, angered over what they see an an avoidable accident have issued some threats to the staff members of the power managing company. According to the youths, the wire had been a source of constant worry and they had been ignored by members of the power holding company.

Customers were said to have gone to the PHCN office to pay their light bills when they met the office deserted. This happened shortly after the electrocution accident and it took the timely interventionof the police force to avert a possible attack on the PHCN staff by angry youths and okada men.
